According to the data released by the Nigeria Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria spent a total of 2.5trillion naira on imports in the first quarter of 2018. With a population of over 195million people, this translates to about 12,700 naira in quarterly product demand from every person in the country.
China remained the largest import partner with a trade volume of over 530 million naira in the first quarter of 2018. Other countries in the top 10 include Netherlands, Belgium, United States, India, France, Germany, Russia, Brazil and Saudi Arabia.
