Lagos Records Highest Crime Rate in Nigeria in 2017

Ranking highest for total offences against property and offences against people, Lagos has the highest crime rate in Nigeria.  With a total of 50,975 offences, Lagos took the lead in rape, murder, unlawful possession and cheating fraud. This is an 11% increase in the crime rate recorded in the preceding year 2016. Residents of Lagos can attest to the surge in these violent crimes with an escalated barbarity, lethality and inhumanity.

Following suit, for the year 2017, Abia state recorded a total of 12,408 crimes. The FCT-Abuja however, recorded a massive 59% decrease in its crime rate of the previous year recording only 5,382 offences.
