The National Competitiveness Council of Nigeria (NCCN) recently released its first ever Sub National Competitive Index. The index covered four key areas: Human Capital, Economy, Infrastructure and Institutions
The Nigerian states competitive index report assesses the competitiveness landscape of the nation’s 36 states, providing insight into the drivers of their productivity and prosperity.
Not surprisingly, Lagos ranks as the most competitive state in Nigeria. Completing the top five most competitive states in Nigeria are Delta, Rivers, Niger and Enugu in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th positions respectively.
From the rear, we have, Borno, Gombe, Yobe, Kwara and Imo states in 37th, 36th, 35th, 34th and 33rd positions respectively.
