Nigerian roads are unsafe. That is a fact. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) data, Nigeria ranks 191 out of 192 countries in the world with un-safe roads with 162 death rate per 100,000 population from road traffic accident.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in its 2016 Road Transport Data, 11, 363 road accidents were recorded in 2016. A total of 5,053 Nigerians got killed in the road accidents recorded in the period under review while 30,105 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
